Cancer cells are normal cells whose DNA has been altered by some insult, chemical or otherwise, which allows the cell to survive - but not in the controlled way of other normal cells. Cancer cells exhibit two main characteristics that are not exhibited by normal cells. The first characteristic is lack of differentiation. Cancer cells lack the ability to do a job for the good of the whole body. All other cells have a job to do in their organ system. Cancer cells have only one design function - to survive at all costs!

The second characteristic of the cancer cell is uncontrolled division. Cancer cells lose their inherent control mechanism which prevents uncontrolled cell division. As they mature and become able to store enough energy to divide, they do so. This creates the tumor mass known as cancer.

From the wholistic point of view, if we can interrupt either of these functions, we have stopped the cancer. A differentiated cell becomes active in support of the body and will not divide. A non-dividing cell, even if it is not differentiated, will not pose a threat to the body. Thus, our wholistic cancer therapies are all pointed at altering one or the other of these two factors.

OXYGEN THERAPIES

Otto Warburg, M.D., was awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery that the cancer cell uses an anaerobic energy cycle, meaning it does not depend upon oxygen to sustain itself. This more primitive method of energy production found in cancer cells uses a fermentation cycle which requires more glucose than a normal cell. An enormous amount of the waste product, lactic acid, is produced in this kind of energy production. Because of the great glucose needs of the cancer cell, the liver is stimulated by messages from the cancer cells to utilize an enzyme to convert the lactic acid waste back into more glucose.

Because the cancer cell is primarily anaerobic, the presence of active oxygen can actually disrupt and even destroy its activity. One of the ways is through cell wall penetration of the oxygen, causing the cell to collapse. In general, the cancer cell wall is much more subject to destruction by the oxidative action of free oxygen than are normal cells.

Free oxygen can be administered in a variety of ways:Ozone Insufflation, Hydrogen Peroxide given Intravenously, Hydrogen/Magnesium Peroxides given Orally, Hydrogen Peroxide and Ozone Baths and Hyperbaric Chambers. By utilizing all these pathways, the tissues become saturated with oxygen which can have a marked deleterious effect on the cancer cell. ANTI-ANGIOGENESIS

Anti-angiogenesis is one of the most successful of all our therapies for different types of cancer. What anti-angiogenesis literally means is against new formation of blood vessels. The most typical characteristic of any cancer is its ability and need to divide. When it divides, the new cells require a new blood supply. This is secured by sending out a chemical message to nearby blood vessels and stimulating them to send a branch of blood vessels to the new cancer cells. Neutralizing the stimulatory chemical or preventing the blood vessels from responding to the chemical, will effectively starve the new cells and stop cancer growth!

Several substances have been found to act as anti-angiogenesis agents; including, cartilage extract, a soy extract called, genistein, vitamin A and a product formulated by Dr. Donsbach called, Oncotox. Each of these substances interrupts the angiogenesis process in a different way. Put them all together and you have an excellent chance to stop cancer! The results Dr. Donsbach has seen at his two cancer hospitals have been very rewarding.

HYPERTHERMIA

One of the most exciting therapies for cancer control is hyperthermia - the increase of temperature in the cancer cell by use of microwave energy. Microwaves, controlled by a computer, are beamed into the cancer mass and the internal temperature of the cancer cell is raised above that which it can tolerate. At approximately 107 to 108 degrees Fahrenheit, the cancer cell dies. Normal cells are not harmed because of the efficient blood supply which acts as a radiator carrying away the increased heat.

Hyperthermia rarely destroys the entire tumor, but the damage to the cancer cells is so effective in stopping cell division, that the result is the same. The body now has an opportunity to slowly destroy the mass and eliminate the debris without overloading the liver and kidneys. Hyperthermia offers one of the most effective therapies known for the treatment of cancer tumors.

FREQUENCY MODULATION

In the 1950's, Royal Rife, M.D., set the medical world on its ear when he announced that he could beam a specific frequency into the body and literally destroy any unwanted organism or cell present. This technology was unwelcomed and Dr. Rife died a disillusioned man.

A new interest in the past ten years has stimulated an intensive study of the work of this scientist. Dr. Donsbach believes this bombardment of the tumor mass with special frequencies is as valid today as it was when Dr. Rife was actively curing cancer with frequencies.

PHOTO-LUMINESCENCE

Before World War II, the Russians invented a device wherein blood from the patient could be passed through an ultra-violet chamber and then reintroduced into the body through a closed system. This therapy, photo-luminescence, was primarily used for infectious diseases and was extremely effective. It was noticed that cancer patients seemed to do much better if they had been treated for an infection with this devise during the course of their cancer.

Although interrupted by the war and the advent of penicillin and other antibiotics, photo-luminescence is still practiced very effectively in Russia and other countries for treating colds, flu, infection and cancer. Dr. Donsbach uses photo-luminescence at his hospitals because it is safe, has no side-effects and produces excellent results!

BIO-MAGNETICS

Long categorized as quackery, the use of magnetic fields to treat cancer is actually well received in many scientific circles. Today there is a booming interest in the use of magnets to control pain. Dr. Donsbach believes that magnetic energy can help to reorient the polarity of the cancer cell and help induce differentiation which would make the cell non-cancerous. Extensive usage has shown that bio-magnetics reduces seizures in brain cancer and works to soften hard, lumpy tumors.
